NH State Police Nab Benz Driver They Say Hit 136 MPH

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — State police say a 25-year-old Manchester man hit nearly 140 mph in a Mercedes Benz during a chase on the Everett Turnpike.

Police say the red Mercedes blew past a marked trooper car in Nashua about 4:15 Sunday afternoon going faster than 100 mph and changing lanes repeatedly.

The trooper gave chase and caught up to the car, which sped away and ultimately topped out at 136 mph.

The car was stopped at the Exit 8 off-ramp and the driver arrested without incident.

Police charged David Jordan with reckless operation and disobeying an officer. A message left at a phone listing in Jordan's name was not immediately returned and it was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
