NH Man Charged With Attempting To Take Officer's Taser During Struggle

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – A New Hampshire man is charged with trying to grab a police officer's taser during a struggle.

Manchester police were called to Hanover Street on Tuesday night after residents said a man was threatening several of his neighbors.

Police found Setarbosnia Rivas, 26, in the parking lot of the apartment building when they arrived, and officers said he was "highly agitated."

Rivas, who police said was speaking quickly and incoherently, reportedly made statements about "guns and bodies."

When police began to try and handcuff Rivas for criminal mischief charges, he allegedly resisted and tried to take an officer's taser from its holster.

After a brief struggle, Rivas was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal threatening, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, attempted criminal mischief, and possession of a controlled drug.

Police said Rivas had about 7.5 grams of marijuana on him when he was searched after his arrest.
