Built by New Hampshire Motor Speedway founder Bob Bahre from 2000 to 2004, the Union Leader reports the family says it's now looking to downsize. It's no wonder the property could be a bit overwhelming, with three lots totaling more than 16 acres. In addition to the two homes, there is a 7,655 square foot entertainment barn, tea house, two stone boathouses, multiple boating docks, a stone amphitheater and a guest cottage.

If $49 million is hard to stomach, the compound can be subdivided into 142 Hopewell Road offered at $25 million or 144 Hopewell Road for $25 million.

But don't forget, once you fork over that $49 million, a $254,000 property tax bill awaits, each year.

Just who could be attracted to such opulence?

In 2012, Lake Winnipesaukee became the summer vacation destination of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy. Sarkozy rented a home, at the time on sale for $13 million. New Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is also a Lake Winnipesaukee fan, he proposed to his wife along the lake and vacations there each summer. He's even said he named his daughter "Winnie" after the lake.
