NH Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In Leominster
LEOMINSTER (CBS) -- State troopers and local police from Leominster and Fitchburg collaborated on an investigation that led to the arrest of a NH bank robbery suspect Saturday.
At about 2 a.m. Saturday morning, troopers developed information in conjunction with the Leominster and Fitchburg Police departments about the location of a man who allegedly robbed a bank in New Ipswich, NH, on Friday, according to a prepared statement from the state police.
Further investigation indicated Eric Lord, 43, of Greenville, NH, was planning an additional robbery Saturday night in the Leominster-Fitchburg area. That information led to the discovery of Lord at a commercial property in Leominster prior to his having the opportunity to carry out the additional robbery, the state police said.
Lord was arrested without incident with the assistance of a state police K9 unit. He was held without bail and faced arraignment Monday in Leominster District Court as a fugitive from justice, the state police said. As of Sunday, he faced no additional charges in Massachusetts; however, the facts and circumstances concerning his potential plans in the Leominster/Fitchburg area remained under investigation.
