New Hampshire Woman Dies In Snowmobile Accident In Pembroke

PEMBROKE, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire officials say an experienced snowmobiler has died after she failed to negotiate a curve and the snowmobile hit a pine tree.

Conservation Officer Lt. Jim Juneau says the 58-year-old Londonderry woman died of her injuries in the Saturday afternoon crash as she was riding through woods on Corridor Trail 15N in Pembroke. Her husband and an adult son were riding on separate snowmobiles.

Juneau says the woman apparently miscalculated and failed to negotiate a left curve and the snowmobile ran into the 8-inch diameter tree off the right side of the trail.

He said she was wearing a full-face helmet at the time and, despite life-saving efforts by responders, she never regained consciousness and died at the scene.

Her name was not released, pending notification of family members.
