Elderly Driver Slams Into Back Of NH State Police Cruiser

NASHUA (CBS) – An elderly woman slammed into the back of a New Hampshire State Police cruiser that was assisting a driver who ran out of gas.

The crash happened Saturday around 10 a.m. on the Everett Turnpike North prior to Exit 5A in Nashua.

Trooper Mark Dore was helping a Nashua woman whose Jeep Grand Cherokee ran out of gas.

As the pair worked on the Jeep, a 79-year-old woman drove her 2011 Toyota Avalon into the back of Dore's cruiser, which had its lights activated at the time.

The cruiser was pushed forward into the Jeep, but no one was seriously injured in the crash.

Police said the elderly driver, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for a move over law violation.
