AG: Woman Stabbed To Death, Son Accused Of Taking Vehicle

CANTERBURY, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire authorities say a woman missing for days was found stabbed to death, and her son has been arrested in Virginia on a charge of stealing her vehicle.

Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said the body of 51-year-old Frances Nash, of Chichester, was found in Canterbury on Monday. An autopsy on Tuesday concluded her death was a homicide; she was stabbed multiple times.

Nash's vehicle was reported missing and was later found in Canterbury. Police issued an arrest warrant for Nash's son, 21-year-old Phillip Nash, in connection with her vehicle and another one. MacDonald said Virginia state police took him into custody outside of Emporia on Monday night.

Phillip Nash was expected to be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
