New Hampshire Investigators Confirm Fremont Deaths As Murder-Suicide

FREMONT, N.H. (CBS) – New Hampshire investigators determined that a woman was killed on Friday in her Fremont home by her boyfriend, who was found nearby after committing suicide.

New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster, New Hampshire State Police Col. Robert C. Quinn and Fremont Police Chief Jon Twiss announced on Monday that autopsies have been completed on both bodies.

Officials said Mary Lucas, 52, was strangled inside her Main Street home on Friday. Investigators believe that Lucas was strangled by her boyfriend Michael Porter, 51, also of Fremont.

Lucas was discovered inside his truck not far from the scene. An autopsy confirmed that Lucas died from a single gunshot wound, and the manner of death was suicide, officials said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
