Massachusetts Home Sales Jump, But Price Dip

BOSTON (AP) — Single family home sales are up in Massachusetts, but prices are down slightly.

Real estate data reports released Tuesday say the number of single-family homes sold in Massachusetts increased in February, compared to the same month last year, when much of New England was buried under historic snows.

The Warren Group says sales jumped 31 percent from 2,192 last February to 2,868 last month.

But the median price for single family homes declined for the first time in months, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors reported. The drop was about two percent, from $316,000 last February to $309,000 last month, the group said.

Both groups also noted that condominium sales were up in February while median prices were similarly down.
