New Bedford Teen Dies Overnight After Shooting; 2 Under Arrest

NEW BEDFORD (CBS) -- An 18-year-old man has died overnight after being shot.

Police say Brad Lourenco was shot at a park near the intersection of South First and Blackmer Streets around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he was in critical condition for several hours before dying late in the evening.

Two people were arrested shortly after the shooting.

New Bedford Police identified them as Ivan Fontanez Jr., 20, and Keeland Rose, 23. They are both charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and several other weapons charges.

They are due to be arraigned Tuesday in New Bedford District Court.
