NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – Police are investigating two separate high speed chases that occurred in New Bedford Monday afternoon.

The first chase started in Rochester, when according to police, 50-year-old Randall W. Harrison hit his own car with a hatchet and then fled when officers responded. During the chase, he allegedly waved the hatchet and a knife out the window.
