Nearly 20,000 Combined Power Outages In NH, VT

BOSTON (CBS) -- Storms have led to nearly 20,000 combined power outages in New Hampshire and Vermont on Sunday night.

As of 9:30 p.m., Public Service of New Hampshire reported more than 12,600 outages. The communities most affected are Claremont (about 2,300 outages), Newbury (1,800) and Newport with nearly 1,300.

Meanwhile, Green Mountain Power tweeted the thunderstorms have quieted down, but 7,200 customers are currently without power. 100 line workers will be working throughout the night to restore power to homes in Vermont.
