NEAQ Seals Show Off Teeth Brushing Skills For Children's Dental Health Month

BOSTON (CBS) - How's this for adorable? The New England Aquarium harbor seals are doing their part this month to show visitors the importance of dental health.

February is Nation Children's Dental Health month. And the seals are showing off their pearly whites as they get in a few public brushings.

The marine mammal trainers have actually been brushing the seals' pearly whites since back in the mid-90s, when they discovered a seal was in danger of losing a tooth.

It took up to six months of training, depending on the seal, to master the daily brushing program.

Now, the seals even have a favorite toothpaste flavor: malt.
