Natick Says Final Goodbye To Long-Time DPW Worker

BOSTON (CBS) ---Friends and family said a final goodbye to a longtime department of public works employee.

Forty-eight-year-old Michael McDaniel Jr. was at the scene of a water main break, earlier this month, in Natick when a backhoe hit and killed him.

A second worker, 41-year-old Scott M. Spurling, was hospitalized in the crash.

McDaniel's family has set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money in support of his wife and 9-year-old daughter. Offline donations can also be sent to or made at Middlesex Bank to the McDaniel Family Support Trust.
