Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Hurt In Beverly Crash

BEVERLY (AP) — State police say a motorcyclist was fatally injured and his passenger was seriously hurt in a crash in Beverly.

Authorities say the accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Friday when a motorcycle operated by a 30-year-old Gloucester man veered into a guardrail on Route 128 and he was thrown off. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His passenger, a 29-year-old Rockport woman, is in the hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers are investigating excessive speed as a factor.
