More Kids Choosing To Eat Healthy Lunches

BOSTON (CBS) - There is good news when it comes to your child's school lunch. Changes were made to the National School Lunch Program for the 2013-2014 school year to make lunches more nutritious, like offering more whole grains and limiting salt.

A new study by the University of Connecticut finds that kids are responding well. More kids are choosing to add fruit and vegetables to their lunch tray, and they are throwing away less uneaten food.
