Mookie Betts Named AL Player Of The Week

BOSTON (CBS) -- Who's better -- who's better -- than Betts?

This week in the American League, nobody!

MLB announced Monday that Mookie Betts has been named AL Player of the Week for his efforts against the Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals.

In seven games, Betts batted .581 with two home runs, three doubles, two triples, and seven RBIs while crossing the plate eight times. He led MLB for the week in average, hits, OBP and total bases.

In the week, Betts raised his batting average from .237 to .277.

It's the first time of Betts' career that he earned the honor. The Red Sox went 4-3 on the week, capped off with a series win in Kansas City.
