MIT Professor Shaves Head For Memorable Lesson On The Brain

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) -- A local professor went above and beyond to teach a lesson to her students.

In a YouTube video, Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Nancy Kanwisher tries to come up with a better way to highlight certain brain functions using her own head.

"It's kind of hard to tell with all this damn hair in the way," she says.

Her solution? Shaving her head.

"I'm going to show you where each of those brain regions are on my scalp," she said.

Then, a graduate student and neuro artist drew specific regions of the brain on the professor's scalp while Kanwisher pointed out each area's specific functions.
