Misunderstanding: PD Now Says Webster-Dudley Food Pantry Not Robbed

WEBSTER (CBS) - Webster police say a misunderstanding, not a robbery, that left the shelves empty at a Webster food pantry.

Apparently, a worker had given away a substantial amount of food on Tuesday night, and did not restock the shelves and did not communicate the situation to the crew that arrived the next morning.

When workers arrived in the morning to find the empty shelves, they assumed the worse.

The plus side is that people from the town started donating immediately and local businesses stepped up with food and cash donations after learning of what was originally suspected as being a robbery.
