Coast Guard Searches For Missing Kayaker In Saugus

SAUGUS (CBS) – Search teams will return to the Saugus River Wednesday morning, hoping to find a missing 72-year-old kayaker.

Craig Dustin Sr. was last seen around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning near the Fox Hill Yacht Club in Saugus. He failed to return home by 2:30 p.m. as he planned. His son found his father's vehicle and alerted the Coast Guard.

"He said he was going out kayaking but had to meet my mother at 2:30," Craig's son Keith Dustin said. "He's never not been anywhere where he's supposed to be."

Dustin is reported to be in a red and yellow kayak. He is believed to be wearing a life jacket and normally carries his cell phone in a waterproof case.

"He's a great man," Keith Dustin said. "Always coaching youth programs and helping others. He's a good guy. Keep him in your thoughts."

A Coast Guard boat crew, the Lynn Harbormaster, Massachusetts State Police, Saugus Fire and Police Departments, and the Revere Fire Department were all searching for Dustin Tuesday night.
