Missing Dog Owner In Reading Receives A Christmas Miracle

NORTH READING (CBS) -- A Reading resident has been reunited with his lost dog thanks to the help of the North Reading Police Department.

The 3-year-old Japanese Kai Ken named Kona slipped out of her harness on December 19 while out on a walk with her owner.

The owner feared Kona was dead after finding remains of a dog while searching nearby woods.

On Friday morning, North Reading Police Officer Greg Connolly, noticed a dog somehow got into his fenced in backyard. The dog matched the description of Kona which was reported by the owner to both the Reading and North Reading Police Departments.
