Missing Burlington Woman Found Safe In Swamp

BURLINGTON (CBS) - A woman from Burlington who had been missing for more than a day was found safe overnight in a swamp.

Tanya Condon-Frieden, 45, had not been seen by family or friends since 5 p.m. Wednesday, when she was last spotted on Ivy Lane in Burlington near the Billerica line.

Police and K-9 units spent hours searching the woods near her home.

They found her around midnight over the Billerica border. She was taken to the hospital and is said to be in good health.

"It was a good outcome for us. We had a lot of help from surrounding agencies as well as the NEMLEC (Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council) K-9 unit who ultimately was responsible for finding her. We're very, very, very appreciative," said Burlington Police Sgt.Dan Hanafin.

Police are still trying to figure out how Condon-Frieden ended up in the woods.
