Man Arrested For Murder Of Marquis Simmons In Milton

MILTON (CBS) – A man has been arrested for the murder of 25-year-old Marquis Simmons in Milton. The deadly shooting happened around 6 p.m. Saturday on Belvoir Road.

Myles King, 21, was arrested on Sunday, the Norfolk District Attorney Office announced.

Simmons was killed near his family home. He was getting off his moped when he was shot from a few yards away, the D.A. said. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center for emergency surgery but did not survive.

Milton Police and Massachusetts State Police had asked any witnesses to call them with information.

King is expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday.

The victim's mother told WBZ-TV she hopes Simmons is remembered for his caring spirit.

On Sunday evening, loved ones could be seen embracing each other and lighting candles in honor of Simmons.
