Milford Police: 14-Year-Old Boy Struck By Vehicle In Stable Condition

MILFORD (CBS) -- A 14-year-old boy struck by a vehicle in Milford over the weekend is in stable condition, police say.

Police chief Thomas O'Loughlin says the boy suffered a head injury, which is being monitored.

The pedestrian accident happened on East Main Street on Sunday afternoon.

He is being treated at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

No charges are expected to be filed.

The boy got out of a parked van, went to the front of the vehicle and then darted across the street and that's when an oncoming vehicle hit him, police said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy could not see him because their view was obstructed by the van, police say.

Authorities have not identified the boy or the driver that struck him.
