Michael Jordan Could Still Beat LeBron James?

By Ryan Mayer, CBS Local Sports

In today's edition of people are stupid, we head to a recent report released by Public Polling Policy.  In the fourth paragraph of the results of the poll, we find out that 34% of people polled think that Michael Jordan, 52, could beat Lebron James, 30, in a game of one-on-one.

Let that sink in for a minute.

Good? Okay, I love MJ as much as anybody; I grew up absolutely revering him. There is zero chance that Jordan could beat LeBron at 52-years-old. This is a level of hate blinding common sense that I'm not sure has been previously encountered.

The debate over the greatest basketball player of all time will never be conclusive and there will always be basketball fans who don't like LeBron because they were Jordan fans, or because he left Cleveland, or because he teamed up with two other superstars to win a ring. I get that. But how is it possible that you could truly believe Jordan would beat LeBron right now? We're not talking about in their prime.

Here's a fun test, call your dad and ask him to play you one-on-one. If you're above the age of 18 you beat him, and more than likely you win handily. That's what we're talking about in terms of difference in athletic ability between LeBron and Jordan.

But enough from me, let's take a dive into twitter to get the best responses.

That's a fair point, after a couple of elbows, maybe LeBron would back off.

I'm not sure why so much hate exists, but definitely correct.

Yep, that pretty much covers it.

Now THAT'S funny. Happy Friday.
