Man, Woman Wanted For Methuen Armed Robberies

METHUEN (CBS) – Methuen Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred days apart and have similar suspect descriptions.

The first robbery occurred on August 23 at Vinny's Liquor Store at around 6:30 p.m. and the second was three days later at around 9 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Superette on Merrimack Street, according to police.

They are searching for a man and woman in connection with both heists.

The Aug. 23 robbery was captured on surveillance cameras. During that incident, a man took an unknown amount of cash from the register after brandishing a knife at the clerk. The suspect then took off.

The man is described as 6-feet tall, with a thin build, black hair, a small amount of facial hair, blue jeans, a black shirt and a black bandana covering his face, police said.

The second suspect, a female getaway driver, is described as dark-skinned, police said. She was driving a black car, but investigators did not identify the model of the car.
