Methuen Girl Celebrates Birthday By Donating 425 Pairs Of Shoes

BOSTON (CBS) - An eight-year old Methuen girl is celebrating her birthday in an unusually generous way.

She's giving out shoes to kids whose families can't afford them.

Kailey Moras gave 425 pairs of brand new shoes to the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory in Brighton.

Instead of asking for presents, Kailey asked for donations to help other children.

"Kids who didn't have any shoes," Kailey said. "I wanted to give them some so they could go to school and play outside."

Last year, Cradles to Crayons handed out 4,500 pairs of shoes, less than half the number requested.
