Medford Officer Caught On Video Threatening Driver Resigns

MEDFORD (CBS) – A Medford Police officer who was placed on administrative leave after a video of him threatening a driver during a traffic stop went viral has resigned.

Officer Stephen LeBert was scheduled to appear at a disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

The hearing stemmed from an incident on July 26 when LeBert was caught on video telling a driver who said he was unfamiliar with the road he would "put a hole right through your head."

LeBert had been placed on administrative leave with pay.

He will now be on leave without pay until his retirement papers are processed.

The disciplinary hearing scheduled for Thursday will not go on as planned.
