MBTA's New Slogan: Winter Happens

BOSTON (CBS) -- Now that December has arrived, the MBTA is issuing a reminder about something riders have been dreading: "Winter Happens."

That's the name of the T's new campaign to raise awareness about the coming season. After historic snowfall last winter made for nightmarish travel, the T is trying to step up communication with riders.

"The purpose of the 'Winter Happens' campaign is to communicate the resources available to T customers in advance of the winter season so that they have access to the most up-to-date service information available," the T said in a statement.

At MBTA.com/Winter, riders will be able to find real-time service information, and billboards are being set up on state highways to support the "Winter Happens" campaign.

The T also scheduled a press conference on Wednesday to show off some of its most powerful snow-fighting equipment, including the "Snowzilla" jet snow blowers.
