MBTA Transit Police: Man Punched Rider Who Complained About His Smoking
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) -- A man MBTA Transit Police say punched a 67-year-old man who complained about his smoking on a T platform was arraigned today in Cambridge District Court.
Anas Elhalabi, 47, of Canton, was arrested for assault and battery on an elderly person on Friday, November 18 around 12 a.m.
Transit Police say the 67-year-old man told them he complained about Elhalabi after seeing him smoking on the inbound platform at Harvard Square station.
They said Elhalabi then punched the man in the face with a closed fist, hurting his lip and face, before fleeing the area.
