Man Causes MBTA Delays While Taking Selfie In Tunnel

BOSTON (CBS) – Transit Police are trying to identify a man they say caused delays at an MBTA station when he went into the tunnel to take a selfie.

Police shared a picture of the suspect, who entered the MBTA's Aquarium Station just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday and continued onto the tracks.

A disruption of service resulted from the man's actions.

Transit Police searched the tunnel but could not find the man, but believe he was in the tunnel trying to take a selfie.

"If the train had come, it would've been disastrous," said Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan. "It's foolhardy. It could've turned deadly. It's very, very dangerous and we're not going to tolerate it."

The man faces criminal trespassing charges.
