Woman Pinned Under Orange Line Train

BOSTON (AP) — Officials say a woman has been hospitalized after being struck by a train in Boston.

Transit police responded to Haymarket Station Wednesday night where officials say the woman was under an Orange Line train.

A Boston Fire Department spokesman says firefighters extricated the woman from underneath the train at around 9:15 p.m. She was conscious and taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. Her condition is unknown.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority officials tweeted that Orange Line service was suspended between Back Bay station and North Station. Buses replaced the train service between North Station and Oak Grove Station.

Regular service resumed at 10:30 p.m.

Transit police are investigating the incident.
