MBTA Bus Driver Accused Of Leaving Scene Of Accident

BOSTON (CBS) – The MBTA is investigating whether a bus driver was under the influence of prescription drugs while he was on the job.

Passengers called police after the bus clipped a parked car in Melrose Thursday evening. The bus was stopped by State Police on Main Street in Stoneham and no injuries were reported.

The driver, who has not been identified, is accused of the leaving the scene of the accident and will be summonsed to court.

The MBTA has removed the driver from his route until it completes its investigation.

No other information has been released.
