MBTA Commuter Train Hits Car On Tracks In Needham

NEEDHAM (CBS) -  An MBTA commuter rail train hit a car on the tracks in Needham early Thursday morning.

The car was parked too close to the tracks on West Street near the Needham Heights station and train 602 slammed into it, knocking the sedan on its roof around 5:45 a.m.

The fire chief said no one was hurt.

But the crash is causing delays on the Needham line.

The MBTA says commuters should take MBTA Route 59 from Needham Heights to Needham Center.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
