MBTA Commuter Rail Recovery Plan Rolls On Despite More Snow

BOSTON (CBS) -- More MBTA Commuter Rail trains will resume operations Monday as part of the transit system's recovery plan despite the anticipated overnight snow.

The transit system has been under public scrutiny after historic snowfall led to limited to no service, stranding thousands of commuters.

According to Keolis, the private company that operates the service, train service operating in Framingham/Worcester, Old Colony, Needham, and Providence/Stoughton will be restored beginning March 2.

The reopening of the rail lines is the first part of a four-phase recovery plan announced by Keolis last week. New weekday trains will continue to be added to lines on March 9 and March 23. The final phase of the plan would have all rail lines restored to full service by March 30.
