Mayor Walsh, Gov. Baker To Ride In Pan-Mass Challenge
BOSTON (CBS) – Thousands of Pan-Massachusetts Challenge bicycle riders help raise millions of dollars for cancer research each summer.
This year a pair of well-known Massachusetts officials will be among them.
Gov. Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced during a recent PMC event that they will participate in this year's event.
Baker joked that he hasn't been on a bike since he was 18 years old, but that won't stop him from riding to help raise money for charity.
Last year the Pan-Mass Challenge helped raise more than $41 million to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This year, the goal is to raise $45 million.
The 2015 Pan-Mass Challenge is scheduled for August 1 and 2.
