On Monday night, the Republican presidential candidate tweeted that he doesn't "want him negotiating for me," referring to Walsh after the United States Olympic Committee pulled Boston's bid to host the 2024 Olympic games.

During a Tuesday appearance on WBZ NewsRadio 1030, Walsh, a Democrat, responded to Trump's jab, saying he won't count on joining Trump for any negotiations in the future.

"No. I'm just going to let him continue negotiating for himself and see how good he is in a few months," Walsh said.

The USOC pulled Boston's bid after Walsh would not sign any agreement that would leave taxpayers responsible for cost overruns.

"Ultimately it came down to the host city agreement yesterday," Walsh told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "It's something I was not able to sign the way people wanted me to sign it. I needed to be able to assure that we had protection there for the taxpayers of our city. We weren't able to come to that agreement."
