Mayflower II Returns To Plymouth Ahead Of Major Anniversary

PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- The Mayflower II is back in Plymouth ahead of a very special anniversary.

The nearly 60-year-old replica of the famed ship that carried the Pilgrims to Massachusetts in 1620 had been undergoing extensive restorations at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut.

It was all part of a sprucing up process for a big anniversary celebration in 2020 to mark Plymouth's 400th anniversary.

With the help of a tugboat, the wooden ship passed through the Cape Cod Canal Monday morning before arriving in Plymouth Harbor.
