Former BC Football Player Max Holloway Killed In Crash

BOSTON (CBS) – Former Boston College football player Max Holloway was killed in a single-car crash in his hometown in Florida early Thursday morning.

Holloway, 26, was driving a Dodge Charger when he lost control of the vehicle, hit a utility pole, and ran into a house in the town of Lutz, just north of Tampa, according to WTSP. He died at the scene. No one else was hurt.

Holloway is the son of former Patriot Brian Holloway.

Max Holloway was a defensive lineman for the Eagles from 2009-11.

"The entire Boston College Athletic Department sends their prayers and condolences to Max's family and friends," Athletic Director Brad Bates said in a statement. "We are all devastated to hear the news of Max's untimely passing."

He played in 34 games at BC and finished with 99 tackles and 7.5 sacks.
