MassDOT To Raise Fares 5-Percent

BOSTON (CBS) --- The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has approved a 5-percent increase to MBTA fares.

Starting in July, fares will increase by 10 cents for bus and subway rides. That means a bus ride will now cost $1.60 and a ride on the T will cost you $2.10.

Monthly bus and T passes will go up $5. Bus-only passes will go up $2 and monthly commuter pass increases range from $9 to $17. The full list of changes can be found here.
