State Police Trooper Hurt In Crash On Route 3 In Duxbury

DUXBURY (CBS) -- A Mass. State Police trooper was involved in a crash early Friday on Route 3 in Duxbury. The trooper, along with the driver of the pickup truck involved, suffered minor injuries.

The back right of the State Police cruiser was damaged and the Toyota Tacoma ended up off the road near Exit 11.

According to State Police, the trooper was parked in the breakdown lane when the truck, driven by a 51-year-old Norwell man, hit the cruiser around 12:15 a.m.

They were both taken to Beth-Israel Deaconness Hospital in Plymouth. The trooper has since been released.

"There was no evidence of alcohol or drug impairment on the part of the Tacoma operator. We expect to cite the operator of the Tacoma for motor vehicle violations," said State Police.
