Massachusetts Named Best State To Live In By New Report
BOSTON (CBS) – If your home is in Massachusetts, you live in the best state in the country, according to a new report.
Financial news website 247wallst.com ranked every state on livability, and Massachusetts came out on top. In fact, New England states took up the first three slots on the list, with Connecticut and New Hampshire finishing right behind the Bay State.
The ranking was based on the levels of poverty, education and health in each state. The ranking notes that Massachusetts residents are wealthier than average, and the poverty rate is one of the lowest in the nation.

People in Massachusetts are also living longer, with life expectancy at 80.5 years versus a national average of 79 years.
Rounding out the top five are New Jersey and Minnesota.
The website named Mississippi the worst state in America, followed by West Virginia, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky.
