Mass. Man Arrested After Slamming Into Maine Police Cruiser

WELLS, Maine (CBS/AP) – A Massachusetts man was arrested after a crash that totaled a Maine police cruiser.

Maine State Police asked Wells officers to be on the lookout for a car that was "all over the road" going south on Interstate 95 around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Wells Police set up a cruiser on the road, and saw the suspect's car allegedly crossing several lanes of traffic.

Police said the car eventually drove over the rumble strip and onto the median where the cruiser was parked.

The car slammed into the cruiser, causing it to go forward into the divider and flip onto its roof.

Two Wells officers were treated at the scene of the crash and released. The driver of the car was brought to Southern Maine Health Care Center in Biddeford.

Maine State Police charged 33-year-old Anthony Menici of Charlestown, Massachusetts, with operating under the influence, driving to endanger and possession of Suboxone.
