Mass. Bay Student Accused Of Pointing Gun In Alleged Road Rage Incident

WELLESLEY (CBS) -- An Allston man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at someone while driving on Route 9 in Wellesley.

Police say 25-year-old Ian Beagan pulled up next to a car in the left lane as it was slowing down for construction Thursday morning, honked his horn and made a profane hand gesture. Beagan then allegedly pointed a handgun at the roof of his car and then over at the driver in the left lane.

The driver gave a Wellesley police officer working a construction detail nearby a description of Beagan's car and license plate number.

Police found the car parked at Mass Bay Community College a short distance away. Beagan, a student at the college was in class. Police say he admitted to the incident, and officers found the gun inside his car.

Police said Beagan is licensed to own a firearm.

Beagan is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm on school property.
