Masked Gunman Robs Milford Store Clerk

MILFORD (CBS) – Tuesday night was a scary shift for a Milford store clerk.

Twenty-five seconds is how long it took for Anwar Benoud to be robbed at the Quick Mart on South Main Street.

Security cameras showed the masked gunman as he burst into the convenience store pointed the gun at Benoud and demanded the money from inside the register.

"Somebody came in with a gun and he put a mask on his face like that, and tell me please, leave your phone down and give me the money" Benoud told WBZ-TV.

The clerk was alone inside the store at the time of the robbery.

Afraid for his safety, Benoud complied with the thief's demands and opened the register.

The robber grabbed a wad of cash and took off.

Police were on scene within minutes.

They questioned Benoud and got the security camera footage. They say the robber didn't leave behind any other evidence.

Milford police said this could be a local criminal and they hope someone will recognize him from the security video and call them.

They say it can only take one tip to find the subject.
