Ambulance Transporting Patient Rolls Over In Falmouth Crash

MASHPEE (CBS) - A Mashpee ambulance rolled over after a head-on crash in Falmouth on Friday. The ambulance was transporting a patient to Falmouth Hospital and was traveling west on Route 151 with its emergency lights on when it was hit.

"Multiple eastbound operators had pulled to the shoulder of the road and yielded to the ambulance," Falmouth Police said. "One operator did not yield, crossed the center line to avoid cars on the shoulder and struck the ambulance head-on."

The vehicle that struck that ambulance was a Toyota Camry. The crash caused the ambulance to hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on before coming to a rest on its driver's side.

The road was closed between Boxberry Hill Road and Ranch Road while the crash was cleared.
