Marlboro Police Arrest 2 On Firearms, Explosives Charges
FRAMINGHAM (CBS) – Two people were arrested on firearms and explosives charges after an alleged attempted robbery in Marlboro early Tuesday morning.
At about 3:30 a.m., police were called to Boston Post Road for a report of a man standing outside a home with a gun.
Officers found Andrew Josefek, 40, of Framingham in the area. Police say Josefek was carrying a gun and two knives and a second firearm was found nearby.
After investigating, police discovered that one person had allegedly been assaulted by Josefek and he was taken into custody.
Police soon learned that Josefek had been driven to Marlboro from Framingham by a woman, who was identified as Kelly Walker, 35.
Walker was found in Josefek's car a short time later. Police saw a shotgun and seven explosive devices inside the car. Walker was arrested and the bomb squad was called to safely remove the car from the scene. State Police determined four of the explosives were "live."
On Tuesday afternoon, the bomb squad allegedly found additional firearms and explosive devices in Josefek's Framingham home. Those devices were rendered safe by the State Police Bomb Squad.
Both Josefek and Walker face several charges including possession of explosives, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, assault with intent to rob and weapons charges. Both are being held pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.
