Marcus Smart Suspended One Game For Punch Versus Spurs
BOSTON (CBS) – Marcus Smart's shot below the belt to San Antonio's Matt Bonner did not go unnoticed by the NBA.
After being ejected from Friday night's loss against the Spurs, Smart was issued a one-game suspension on Saturday, the league announced.
The Celtics are next scheduled to play the Detroit Pistons on Sunday at TD Garden.
The NBA has suspended Marcus Smart for one game due to the Flagrant 2 foul he committed Friday night in San Antonio.

Smart's suspension comes as Boston battles for the eighth and final spot in the NBA playoffs.
As of Saturday, the Celtics are tied with the Indiana Pacers for the No. 8 seed.
