Autistic Conn. Boy, Nephew Of Marcus Camby, Found Dead In Texas Lake

PEARLAND, Texas (CBS) – Police in Texas found the body of an autistic 9-year-old Connecticut boy who was the nephew of former University of Massachusetts star basketball player Marcus Camby.

Marcus McGhee went missing on Thursday in Pearland, Texas, while he and his family celebrated Thanksgiving at Camby's home.

Police searched for McGhee until Saturday morning, when they announced they had discovered the boy's body in a lake behind Camby's home.

Volunteers had joined police in searching for McGhee after he went missing.

"The Pearland Police Department regrets to inform the community that Marcus McGhee has been found," said on Saturday. "Today's search will be called off. We thank all of you for your efforts. The family is now in need of our prayers."

Camby played for the UMass in the 1990s as the Minutemen reached the Final Four.

In 1995-96, Camby was named the Naismith College Player of the Year. He went on to a lengthy NBA career.
