Marathon Bombing Survivor Gets Married At Fenway Park

BOSTON (CBS) - The tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombings slowed them down, but it could not prevent the wedding of Marc Fucarile and Jen Regan. The couple had been planning their ceremony early last year, but the bombing that took Marc's leg put those plans on hold.

During his recuperation, Jen spotted a contest offering a free wedding to a couple who was affected by the bombings.

She wrote an essay – and won.

"We kind of all read them all together and we voted," explains Adrienne Mendonca, one of the wedding coordinators who organized the contest. "And I do have to say it was unanimous for Marc and Jen."

The wedding took place Thursday night at the EMC Club at Fenway Park. The wedding's colors were blue and yellow – to match the Boston Strong logo – right down to the pair of donated Duck Boats that shuttled guests to and from the park.

"Oh my God, incredible, they're just two of the best people I know," said wedding guest and family friend Bobby Mastropietro.

"We're super proud of him and Jen," added Julie Callahan, Fucarile's cousin. "They've had a very trying year and we're very proud of them and so happy to celebrating here today."
